Two years ago, South Africa issued a couple of "skull" coins in the country's "Natura" series.

These are the designs (embedded link).



... and this article (in German) has some images of the pieces.

By the way, the skeleton on the Notgeld piece from Menden is that of a cave bear.

It was found in the area and can be seen at a museum in the city (once it opens again).
