The same die has been impressed in the bar several times. The design of the die looks like that of a coin, but I am told that the letters were likely copied from a coin by someone who doesn't understand the script. The impression is clear, but the text is not readable.

One possibility is that the die was made to produce jewellery items with an Iranian (the design looks vaguely like an Iranian coin to me) or Arabic flavour outside the actual area. Note the notch near the edge on the first picture. This may have been made by someone who was curious about the metal content of the bar.
