opinion on genuity of coins
« on: February 22, 2021, 05:28:20 AM »
Hi. I have been offered a set of coins, pictured in attachment, by a collector located in Central Asia.
I have found it striking that it includes, along with Afghan faluses, also coins of Sa'eed Pasha from Baghdad and even of Morocco, the later's style being different than what I've seen so far.
I've not encountered so far forgeries of such coins but I have a very uneasy feeling regarding these ones.
What do you think?

Indeed, for me, all are doubtful...at least two types of the Baghdad coppers have fancy reverses.
For comparison see this Baghdad coin of Sa'id Pasha previously posted.
If your  recently posted Ahmadshahi falus comes  from the same seller, there is a doubt too : the lack of digits of the date on it could be a variety or .... a mistake from a forger !
