Sultan :- Muhammad bin Tughlaq (1325-51 AD) Denomination :- 1/2 Tanka (Forced currency)
Mint - Mintless.
Rarity :- Rare
The interesting aspect is the legend is arabic and not persian like most other delhi sultan coins.
The obverse is taken from Quranic verse of Ayat al nisaa-4.59 which says
"Atiullah, atiur Rasul, wa ulil amri minkum, Surah Nisa " with Muhammad.
meaning 'Obey Allah and obey the prophet and those in authority among you (Qura’an IV.62), Muhammad associate with muhammad bin tughlaq.
The reverse is persian and reads '
Lau la al-Sutlan l’Akal al-Nas be’Azham Tughlaq waa'lal sar mad mahr with 731 AH.
Legend below tughluq it's little bit confusing .
Issue year :- AH 731 / AD 1331
AH 730 date Are known but in my coin AH 731 are clearly seen ,which make its unlisted & Rare
Pls If I am wrong in any place pls point out and correct the mistake .
A curious specimen of Delhi sultans
