All that for a simple paisa. Don't laugh, but what got me is the little loop at the 5 o'clock corner of the square. Someone felt the need for a little elegance on this otherwise utilitarian object. I take that as a sign of culture and refinement. Humans are quarrelsome and even bloodthirsty at times, but at their best, they make something useful and then give it a little twist to make it look nicer.
