The Falkland Islands. The effigy on the obverse
« on: December 20, 2020, 01:55:28 PM »
The latest coins for the Falkland Islands are produced at the Pobjoy Mint. The obverse of the coins features an effigy of the Queen, about which the Pobjoy Mint writes: "The obverse of the coins shows the Pobjoy Mint Effigy of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II." Does anyone know which particular designer is the author of the image?

Thank you to everyone who read my question. I received a reply in private messages from eurocoin. He said that the Pobjoy Mint does not disclose its performers. But, I will still try to write them this question in a letter to their mail.

Not sure anyone would want it known that they designed that.

Did the queen herself approve of this effigy?

In general collectors are very negative about this portrait. But yes, it was certainly approved by the Palace.

And I like this effigy more than a portrait from Raphael Maklouf in 2016.

Which is to be expected. The Customer Service Department's response is " Unfortunately, we do not disclose the names of our designers of coins."

A wise move by Pobjoy. Saves the designer from being pilloried!
