Afternoon all,

I wondered if someone could help me with this token please?

I recently noticed in Pridmore that this bank token is supposed to have a weight of 8.94g. Mine tips the scales at 12.6g.

All I can think is that either the weight in Pridmore is wrong, or I could have a thick flan proof.

What do yours weigh please Mal?

Cheers,
MBE

I can't answer your question, but it's a lovely piece, whatever it weighs!  :)

Weight is wrong in Pridmore - this is from Coincraft.
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

Much appreciated - seemed like the most plausible explanation. :)

Your coin was struck on a thin flan.

It's actually this one: https://www.dnw.co.uk/auction-archive/lot-archive/lot.php?lot_uid=313033

I was querying the weight because Pridmore records it as 8.94g, which didn't fit with mine at 12.58g.
