Here's a history of Hog Island, Alex. The Philadelphia International Airport occupies the island today. UPS has a huge terminal there that they use to fly freight all over the world. I've been there several times in a work capacity and it's the most impressive operation to see.

That view is from long before my time, but is probably part of the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. The yard is no longer active, except for a small presence by the US Navy. I know they maintained a propellor shop there until a few years ago but I don't know the status of it today. Most of the base has been converted to civilian use although there's a private company that builds ships there...can't think of the company offhand.
