Royal Dutch Mint has some time ago received an order for the production of circulation coins for the East Caribbean States. The order amongst other things is for the production of 26 million 2019-dated 5 cent coins. The coins will unfortunately not depict the mintmark or mintmastermark of Royal Dutch Mint.

It is the first time that the circulation coins of the East Caribbean States are being produced in the Netherlands. In the past The Royal Mint produced these, and in recent years they were being produced at the Canadian mint.

I believe this may be the first time that standard circulation coins depicting the Queen's portrait were minted in a country where she isn't monarch. Usually such coins are being produced in the UK, Canada or Australia.

The South African Mint produced Rhodesia's coins of 1964. South Africa had become a republic in 1960. There may be more examples.

Franklin Mint produced the Bahamas 1973 set,  there are probably examples more from their vast output.

...back to the earlier question.

What about the silver coins made in the U.S.A. for Australia and Fiji in the 1940s?

Thanks Mr Paul Baker

Let's say it is a rare occurence then. 1940, 1960 and 1970(?) all are a very log time ago.

dunno,  they were certainly sold by the Franklin Mint in their packaging.

Collector coins from the Cook Islands have been made all over the place, mostly with a portrait of Elizabeth II,
sometimes with very odd portraits

Made and sold by Franklin Mint who were then in Surrey, England - though not exclusively.

Well they were established in Philadelphia, U.S.A. around mid-1960s (and were evidently there whilst coins were a Franklin Mint product) but they were also in Surrey making at least plenty of tokens (such as those for machines). About 1973 Pobjoy Mint took over the Franklin Mint's Surrey address.

I am fairly sure that not all FM mint marked coins were made in Surrey but were some of them made in Surrey and if so until when? Or is there clear info that Franklin Mint were making many coins (usually for sets) in the U.S.A. around 1973 and onwards but never in Surrey?

Thanks Mr Paul Baker

New Zealand use a range of different mints for their circulation coins,
South Africa and Norway are mentioned on their webiste in addition to the RAM and RM;

Well found, this is indeed a more modern example of this.

Coins minted by the Royal Dutch Mint are included in the most recent NZ brilliant uncirculated sets (2010-2013) and as the circulating coins in the proof sets (still issued annually as of 2020), I would assume that the circulating coins of the last decade are equally minted there.
