This is a 'mamieta-gin', Japanese silver bullion coinage. There were larger 'cho-gin' used for the bulk of larger transactions, and the amount of silver paid could be adjusted up to the required amount with the 'mamieta-gin', or the 'mamieta-gin could be used on their own for smaller transactions as there was no fixed weight and they can vary from about 1 gm up to as much as 20 gm.

See https://www.imes.boj.or.jp/cm/english/history/content/#EarlyModern for illustrations of some of the 'cho-gin' in the 'From the end of 17th century to the first half of the 18th century ' section.

I think your piece is from the 1837-1858 issue, from the Tenpo period. There is a little more information at https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins.pl?coin=21661

Thanks a lot, Alan. Your answer showed me the correct direction, positioning and classifying of the coin.  :)
