In 1995 Guernsey issued a non-circulating 2 pound coin.

It commemorated the 50th anniversary of liberation from occupation by the Nazis.

The issued design was the work of Dutch coin designer, Willem Vis.

The coin was minted in copper-nickel and also in silver.
