Greetings. As far as I know this is a rupee from the Amirs of Khairpur. Is my assumption correct that it is C#12 of the year 1262 AH? Can someone please confirm or correct that? Thanks!

I think your attribution is correct. The number 62 appears on your second photo about 4 o'clock toward the center, and your coin looks quite similar, though not quite identical, to this one listed in Zeno as C#12

While the decorations are indeed different, the text is as far as I can tell exactly the same. Interestingly, the coin on Zeno is struck ex-centrally, revealing that there is a broad legend around the central part showing completely on Treverer's coin.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Thanks to both Seeker55 and Peter for the helpful hints. I searched all the relevant catalogs and archives known to me, but I did not find anywhere the picture of a coin with the date (12)62 und with the same decoration as mine. From the Standard Catalog of World Coins I learned that a C#12 was struck also in the year 1262 AH. Peter is absolutely right in stating that the obverse side of my coin is minted very centered. A variety of published coins from the Amirs of Khairpur reveal that there is a broad legend around the central part. I'm not giving up trying to find out more about this piece.  ??? This one might be a hard nut to crack.
