Civic copper of Mashhad, elephant & rider to right
« on: July 31, 2020, 11:49:58 AM »
7,51g
The reverse is unfortunately widely off centered, however this coin clearly shows the crowned head of the rider (the king ?).
the same type with the elephant to left exists, see here
The date is off, placed under the elephant (should be 1246 or 47).
(a better one has been posted in 2015 but pictures disappeared...)

Amazingly, both designs date from the times of Alexander the Great and the Gupta dynasty.
