Aurangazeb, AE square half paisa ?Ujjan
« on: May 21, 2020, 08:54:26 PM »
Posting two copper half dams I presume are of Aurangazeb.
Ujjain is visible on one. RY are there on both.  Stylistically they look different, but could they be from the same mint!? or could the coin with RY 32 be of Shah Alam II? Or is 32 not the RY? Please comment.

Yes. These are both Ujjain. The second one, though not listed till recently (I am not sure if it is now listed) is fairly common.

Overlord and Jan Lingen have provisionally attributed the first coin to Akbar from Shikhar mint (near Ahmadnagar) here https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=252060&cat=all&ppuser=2347

I agree. It is Sikar mint.
