Old and new map

Please, as I have only been abroad once, could someone give examples of the various maps used, so that I can watch for them.   It would be better if coins of the same denomination could be shown to give a better comparison.   Any info would be welcome.

Either that, or look for Norway. If it's not there, the piece is an "old" one.

Will be interesting to see, by the way, what happens in case Iceland joins the EU one day. Currently it's not on the "map", neither of the old series nor of the current one ...

Right. Well, who knows, maybe neither of the two will ever become a member state, and coin designers will not have to worry. Side note: On the euro notes, Iceland and (much of) Turkey are depicted, but two member states and euro countries (Cyprus and Malta) are missing ...
