But the guy who prepared the flan must have been a little tired with this one as it is not perfectly round...

It looks like when the metal was hot, two flans were too close together, flowed into each other and were cracked apart. You are benefitting, as the flans thinned out in the process, becoming larger and flatter, so more than usual of the die actually made it to the flan.
