This coin has been overstruck on a previous one whose remains are visible at right of the off centered reverse.

My great frustration with these coins is that the dies have clearly been much better than the coins. The artistry of the die cutter, diminished by the craftsmanship of the minter - or perhaps the greed of the mint master? Of course, the work of the die cutter has a "primitive" or "naive" quality, but that became an art trend much later.

On the positive side, this coin made me look up Urumi, only to end up here, discovering its Turkic and Armenian connections, museums and many connections with music and singing. Sympa !
