150th anniversary of the British Red Cross:
For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription “· ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · FID · DEF · 5 POUNDS”, and for the reverse:
A depiction of a cross set against a background of the British Isles and a series of lines symbolising the globe accompanied by the inscription “· 1870 · BRITISH RED CROSS · 2020 ·” and “THE POWER OF KINDNESS”.
The coin shall have a grained edge.

75th anniversary of the end of WWII:
For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription “· ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · FID · DEF · 5 POUNDS”, and for the reverse:
The words “WAR” and “PEACE” accompanied by the inscription “· THE END OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR ·” and the dates “1945 · 2020”.
The coin shall have a grained edge.

Proclamation published 26 June for Remembrance Day £5 cupro-nickel coin:

‘For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription “· ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 5 POUNDS · 2020”, and for the reverse the silhouette of a First World War soldier formed by poppies accompanied by the inscription “LEST WE FORGET 11 NOVEMBER 2020”. The coin shall have a grained edge.’

The design shall be as follows:
‘For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription “· ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · FID · DEF · 5 POUNDS”, and for the reverse a depiction of an Ox with the inscription “YEAR OF THE OX · 2021” and the Chinese lunar symbol for an Ox.
The coin shall have a grained edge.’

With a Matthew Dent involvement, a boring design is usually the result.
High time that the awful picture-puzzle shield was retired and replaced with a non-heraldic series like flora & fauna. Something pleasing to the eye, which Dent's designs are certainly not.

Such an inspiring design - how many minutes did it take the two designers to come up with this? 

From the RM website, the designers say:
“We started with extensive online image research, leafing through books and libraries of visual material from the period. Then we spent time delving into the Imperial War Museums’ archives and picking the brains of the curators who work there. It was a fascinating, and moving, experience. It’s difficult for those of us who’ve known nothing but peace to properly imagine what the wartime generation went through.”

So, after all that research they came up with two intersecting words. Unbelievable! Hope they gave their commission to charity.

The design of the David Bowie coin that has not yet officially been unveiled. The coin was designed by Jody Clark.
Collectors seem to be mainly negative about the design.

In recognition of Bowie's first hit single Space Oddity, the RM launched a commemorative coin into space to celebrate the career of David Bowie - The Starman. It reached an altitude of 35,656m (116,982ft).
