W Mint Mark Nickels in Annual Sets

In 2019, the US Mint put special W mint mark cents into the various annual sets.

For 2020, the US Mint will be including special W mint mark nickels into the various annual sets.

In 2019 the US mint actually made 2.000.000 of each of the five types in West Point NOT destined for mint sets. Those coins were distributed in Denver and Philadelphia together with the normal coins minted there. It was a try from the US mint to send scarce coins on the market to highten the interest in coin collecting.

I'm just back from the US and I have one of them, it was a present from a collector friend in the States..... Market value around 20 US$!

Those were the 2019 America The Beautiful Park Quarters that were minted in W mint marks and placed into circulation.  2 million of each of the 5 designs, so a total 10 million W mint mark quarters were released.
