It is a newer coin but we pulled it out of circulation early.  Pretty neat coin but I had some help taking the pics...as usual :-)  "I am Cat...hear me MOOW".  She's fun :-)

This coin has two nicknames, which does not happen often. Canada issued a round dollar a few years before, with a duck, know as a loon on the other side. The coin is known as a loonie (sp?). When a double dollar coin appeared it was logical, but slightly boring, that it should be known as a twoonie. Less respectful but more imaginative Canadians thought up "the queen with the bear behind".

Peter, I showed Catie you're reply.  It took about ten seconds to sink in then I thought we might have a accident she laughed so hard ;D  Made my morning!
I agree about the loon Dollar...pretty bland design in my opinion.
