Hi

Guys help on this kanishka coin
Is it possible tooled ?

Thankyou

jkk

I don't understand what is meant by "tooled." Looks authentic, and your ID of Kushan seems right.

Figleaf

It has a tooled look, but it could be the patina. I am bothered by the missing chunks, e.g. face, hand, chest as well as by the fine parallel scratches. Notice how the lines on the front of the figure run through on the arm.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

THCoins

The Kings side looks OK. The Buddha side severely worries me. First notice that Buddha's right elbow does not extend outside the body contour as it does on his left side. Secondly, starting at his right shoulder (so left on the coin) there is a faint contour of a slightly curved horizontally outstreched arm. This makes me believe this coin was recarved from a common (likely MIORO) type to the rare Buddha type.
