0 euro 2012 - looks Greek?

Have a look at  my tokens and my banknotes.

Privately issued political token on Greece's statistical and financial problems. I vaguely remember having seen it before on this site.

If I remember correctly, they were made by Dutch coin dealer De Ruiter. If you ordered for a certain amount you got 1 of these for free, alternatively people could buy one from him. To the left of the 0 there is a web address: 0euromunt.nl

I have uploaded a scan of a newspaper clipping (in Dutch) about the piece, that I kept since 2012, here. It mentions that the Dutch Ministry of Finance had forced the coin dealer to destroy any remaining pieces he had as they could be used to deceive people. The article also mentions that it is illegal to have a piece like this in your possession. Letting produce these pieces was not forgery though as for that there should have been '2 euro' on it. The dealer claimed he did not know how many pieces he gave out to his clients, it weren't tens of thousands though.

Fun collection, jezuss. There are a few more such notes on WoC. I am a fan of the € 0 banknotes. Not as collector's items but as souvenirs. I also have a € 0 note around somewhere from a place (Vilnius?) where they had a machine that would insert your face on the "banknote".

I saw dozens of € 0 banknotes today at the Holland Coin Fair, all well made.

Would they have been of this type?

They certainly were of that type. A complete table was filled with stacks of them, they seemed all purple to me.
