Nice coin, high grade. This is an Akbar (1556-1605 AD) silver tanka on the 64-rati standard, Malwa type, Mandu-Ujjain mint, date off flan, KM#75.

I suspect it was harshly cleaned. It gleams, but the edges of the script are not sharp and the surface of the lettering is pitted. It will recover in time, but - depending on how polluted the air it is exposed to is, it may take years.

Yes, I agree. By high grade, I mean probably VF or VF+, better than many coins this age. It does show wear and residual soil, and could well have been harshly cleaned, as many Indian coins are.
