I knew the Shirvan Shahi, but i was not aware of the later Shirvan Khanate. So, again learned something new today, thanks !

Re-annexed by Nadir Shah, this former Safavid province recovered a partial autonomy with the persian shah as overlord; coins in circulation were of  persian types and  standards.
This Zand abbasi (like all other coins of Karim Khan) doesn't bear the ruler's name, but only the evocation "Ya Karim"

Yesterday i had some time to read into the history of this region a bit. Sometimes looking beyond the borders of my own focus area helps to keep my interest in numismatics fresh and my view open.
