Fun coins to have a look at. TFP.

I recommended to be careful with the terms scarce and rare. First, they are not defined. Each author makes his own. Second, large quantities of newly found copper coins are coming to the market in India these days. It is not just the advent of the metal detector, but in particular a rise in prices that preserves coins that were almost automatically melted before. As a consequence, even the best catalogues are rapidly becoming outdated. The relative scarcity of coins was measured by the number of coins in public and private collections the author was aware of. Those relative numbers have often changed. Some coins once seen as common are now considered not common at all and vice versa, while new types are being discovered.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
