Australia: Wallabies Australia 2 dollars
« on: September 03, 2019, 01:22:17 PM »
Later this year Australia is going to release a coloured 2 dollars coin into circulation for their national rugby team, Wallabies Australia. The coin depicts the logo of Wallabies Australia.

Just yesterday I saw this wallaby in my garden, he was pretending to be a tree stump.

You are lucky, mal. The animal visitors in our garden are normally the neighbour's cats, taking it for their favourite place to defecate. :'(\

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

It's probably no consolation to you, but we have the same problem.

The design of the coin is okay. However, I wish the RAM would cut down on the coloured $2 coins.
Looking at the Australian coin determinations there are probably more in the pipeline.

While the effigy is pretty ''beat-up'' (okay, the coin was in circulation  ;) ) the colour on the obverse is very good. I have seen photos of these coins where the colour is in pretty bad shape (not fully on the coins, looks peeled of).
