« on: August 11, 2019, 08:35:47 AM »
Latvia's latest 5 collector coin commemorates Niklāvs Strunke.

Niklāvs Strunke is one of the most original Latvian modernists, strongly proved his worth as an artist at the time coinciding with the declaration of Latvia's independence. One of his most distinguished works, the painting "Man Entering a Room" (1927), has been depicted on the reverse of the collector coin "Niklāvs Strunke". Meanwhile, the coin's obverse features a fragment of his painting "Self-Portrait with a Doll" (1921).

Mintage: 4000, Issue Price: 56.

It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. -J. K. Rowling.

Without that bleeping denomination, in a cheap metal and at a larger size, this would have been such an attractive medal.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
