Monaco, Honoré V coppers, small and large head
« on: August 03, 2019, 01:06:35 PM »
Just got a bronze 5 and 10 centimes 1837 and 1838. KM makes a difference between large and small head. To cut a long story short, I think KM got it wrong. The photos in KM are misleading. The heads are the same size (the neck is slightly different at the tip), but the font is smaller on the so-called small head coins. The best way to see the difference is to compare the space between the E in PRINCE and the hair. That makes clear that the pics in my 7th edition of the 5 centimes coins are both "large head".

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
