Stockholm parking token
« on: June 09, 2012, 03:08:57 PM »
C C Sporrong & Co Stockholm are token, badge, button etc., makers. This may be an advertising token of the company but the initials are curious.

Some parking tokens have GK and city logo of Saint Erik

That website also has other C C Sporrong & Co parking tokens listed but none that look like yours.

I am not any further with this L V - the Swedish car park tokens are here at the end of page 77 and on pages 78 and 79 with several of the G K shown but not the L V so at least parking seems to be out.

As to G K, it stands for Gatukontoret, and the one shown above is specifically Stockholms Gatukontor, since it has St Erik, as noted. Each kommun in Sweden has its gatukontor, which is the body responsible for maintaining the roads, clearing snow and such. The token could well be for parking, e.g. using parking meters.

(This is a summary of info that I posted elsewhere, just so it's in a logical place.)
