Some comments....

The 1982 is worth a mention but it is not a "normal" available coin.

Based on wording I came up with many years ago, the five sub-types of "KM-79" are as follows:-

KM-79.1 is the type number for all pieces of the 1983 to 1987 dated pieces, these pieces have a security edge.

KM-79.2 is distinguished as LEGS OF HORSE AND OTHER EXTREMITIES OF ANIMALS IN BASE OF COLUMN HAVE BEEN RE-CUT, these pieces have a security edge.

KM-79.3 is distinguished as COLUMN AS PER KM-79.2 BUT ALSO WITH RE-CUT FUR ON LION, these pieces have a security edge.

KM-79.4 is distinguished as being as per KM-79.1 but with a milled (reeded) edge instead of a security edge.

KM-79.5 is distinguished as being as per KM-79.3 but with a milled (reeded) edge instead of a security edge.

Perhaps you could show in your list the sub-type(s) known for each mint for each date.

In catalogues it is suggested that KM-79.1, KM-79.2 and KM-79.3 all exist for 1988 Mumbai. Can anyone confirm KM-79.2 1988 Mumbai exists ? If it does not exist then it can be considered that type KM-79.2 is Noida pieces only. The "KM-79.2 1988 Mumbai" seems to be a bit out of place.

Also I believe there are both Milled and Security edge pieces for 1988 Kolkata (KM-79.1 and KM-79.4) and not just because I have seen them in the catalogues.

Also for KM-79.5 1990 Mumbai, I evidently have a piece with (Faint) Coarse Reeding to the edge and a piece with Fine Reeding to the edge. Or is this too slight a difference ?

>>>>

Also - you mention lion varieties for 1991 Hyderabad - do you consider that both KM-79.4 1991 Hyderabad and KM-79.5 1991 Hyderabad exist ?

For their listing of these sub-types, Numista says:- "NOTE: variety listing differ between coin catalogues. More varieties may exist." These are now an "older" series but still the uncertainty...

That says enough for now.
