Obverse: “ بنده شاه ولایت حسین ضرب ایروان “, bandeh shah-e velayat, Husayn, Zarb Erivan, date is “ 1126 ۱۱۲۶ ” at 11 O’clock.
Reverse: Shiite formula (Kalima) “ لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله علی ولی الله ”, meaning, “no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God, ‘Ali is the chosen one of God”.
Shah Sultan Husayn, son of Sulayman I, was enthroned in AH 1105 (1694 AD), and abdicated under pressure from the Afghan invaders in AH 1135 (1722 AD). He was murdered by his Afghan mentors in AH 1142 (1729 AD).
