Reverse, Persian legend: " سنہ أحد جلوس میمنت مانوس ضرب اتاوا ", Zarb Itawa, Sanat Ahad julus maimanat manus (struck at Itawa year 1 of the accession associated with tranquil prosperity).
Nadir Shah entered the city of Delhi on 09 March 1739 and was proclaimed sovereign. Nadir Shah forced Muhammad Shah to handover the keys of his royal treasury, and losing even the fabled Peacock throne to the Persian emperor. Nadir Shah also looted the “ Koh-i-Noor که – ی - نور “, (meaning "Mountain of Light" in Persian) and “ Darya-ye Noor دریا - ی - نور “, (meaning "Sea of Light") diamonds.
