Slovenian telephone token
« on: April 27, 2019, 07:49:19 AM »
Found this picture on the net, identified as French. I don't think so, but have no alternative either. Do you? Sorry, I don't have its vital statistics.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

It is from Slovenia, I have these; (1989-1993) brass 22.8mm and also have another with B at the top, larger brass at 26.8mm but mine are slightly different as both reverses have the word Iskra incuse.

Turkey also has PTT tokens.

Which explains why I couldn't find it in Groenendijk. I guess they took the A for the Paris mint mark. Thank you, Malcolm.

A catalog listing these is: Tokens of the Yugoslav Lands by Ranko Mandić, Serbian Numismatic Society, Beograd 2001.
