Might be Aramaic?
« on: April 24, 2019, 05:40:17 PM »
Still picking the crust off of this one.  From what I've researched so far I think it could be Chaldean or Aramaic.  Still looking.  I think it copper, 18mm and 9.4 grams.

I think it is a small billon or copper coin of one of the Indian Sultanates, 13th-14th centuries, though I haven't pinned it down exactly yet.

The script is definitely Arabic not Aramaic. The top image needs turning 90 degrees anticlockwise and the lower image needs turning 90 degrees clockwise.

I'm still learning the different languages.  Not easy :-)  So, what do you think?  I'm calling 1100 AD but I'm not sure.  Always looking for another opinion. So crusty!
