Nice initiative. I hope it will get many people (and especially their children) interested in coins. I am turned off by the "making a profit" stuff, though. The profit thing is highly overrated and will therefore lead to disappointment when people start to believe it; hardly a motivation to continue. Coins have much to offer in the fields of history, geography, languages and writing, economy, art and symbolism, heraldry and more. They will not disappoint there, but it takes work to get their message out. That's a more difficult, but also more honest message.

That is cool!  My kid and I have been at for years ;-)  We would be happy to participate.  She goes through my coins when we go through Taco Bell!

Just how I started collecting coins when I was a little boy, chief. My dad encouraged me to look through change for Lincoln cents to fill my book. It instilled a lifelong interest in me.

I think I've got her hooked.  It's fun and very educational!  Update...She raided my coin jar this evening...disconcerting.  I like me coin jar  :'(
