Upside down. Makes sense
No, it wasn't me who did it. I can't hurt a coin
TFP, Bruce!

A little before your time too, Peter.
I've never found a coin with my name on it, but I keep looking.

One coin? You have a
currency
named after you. Until you showed this one, all my namesakes spelled their name in Cyrillic. Makes sense to me. Which king wants to be named after a doorman?
It's true that Robert the Bruce signed his coins with Robert only, but he counts, I would say.
This one
can be yours for £4.00.

Thanks, Peter, I feel better now. Due to my upgraded status ,I can move out of my cardboard box in Montana and get me a double-wide somewhere a little warmer...like Death Valley.
I've actually been in Death Valley believe it or not. While doing some work in Nevada many years ago I traveled through the area and had to stop for gas. I was talking to the owner and made the "tourist mistake" of mentioning how hot it was. "It ain't but 109 degrees today" says he. Haven't been back since.

"Where does this go?"
Well, there always:
Art, humour and propaganda
.
Or maybe not (always). Do you feel a poll coming on, Mr Figleaf?

I thought you wanted to do a thread on first names, but now I remember you already have one on saints. Can you fit Bruce in, please? Anyone who survives 109° C should be a saint.

I was talking countermarks. Anybody is welcome to start a thread in the thematic collecting board, of course. Or if brandm24 needs any posts to be repositioned there, if he sends me a PM, I'll happily do the work. Otherwise, I was thinking Figleaf might even like to propose a child board?

While St. Bruce has a nice ring to it, Peter, I'm hardly deserving. Other than my experiences in the California desert, I haven't suffered enough to deserve the title..... Well come to think of it, I've been married for 40 years, so.......
