Do I have to keep the RY blank? As on Zeno?

Yes. One AH was always spread across two RY's or the Reverse also - one RY covered two years. Let me explain this.

A particular AH started. It was not possible that the ruler sat on the throne on the first day of the year. Say he came to the throne some time after 5 or 6 months. So in the first year of his rule (RY), he will have completed the running year (AH) and since he came to the throne some where in the middle of the year, by the time his first year of rule (RY ahd or 1) is completed, the next AH has already commenced. So RY ahd would span 2 AH's. Now, the second AH has commenced in the RY ahd. By the time the second AH completes, he has already entered his RY 2. So that AH has two RY's (RY ahd & RY 2). and this goes on.

Also please note that information on the coin only is confirmed and for a person who is not an expert in the field, it is very difficult to guess what else would be there on the full coin. Often, die engravers missed engraving some things or added some additional marks, which would make the coin a little different from the others.

I hope the information provided is clear ( I have tried to make it as simple as possible).
