This is Ottoman manghir Edirne mint

Thank you gencho kitov, I thought the mint is Derna in Libya, but " Ederne (Adrianople) أدرنه " is in Turkey. The coin is Ottoman but the Sultan Mahmud II is yet to be confirmed.

I looked at quite a few coppers from Edirne, but didn't find any with the six-pointed star. I aslo didn't find any coins from Derna (which doesn't mean they don't exist, but only that I didn't find them). I did find a Libyan coin with that star. KM117.

Same for me.
Before i asked for help here i searched zeno plus several sites for Ottoman coins without a match.
Looks like many different Manghir emissions are existing, many of these anonymous or unattributed and the surviving material is not very well struck and preserved. So it´s a high advantage the mint name is on this coin and still visible.
And - who cares about such a dirty small bronze

Today i stumbled on my coin posted on Zeno:

Looks like "gencho kitov" posted it there with the related data of weight and size i posted here on WOC.



My label has been removed (overlapping traces on flan edges are still visible), no one asked me or informed me prior to that, no one cited the origin of the picture.
However WOC is cited by this link:

I would not deny a posting if i´m asked before and cited and if i would have a chance to post it by myself.
But Zeno is a closed society for me and others as they don´t allow new registrations since a couple of years.

On the other hand they state on every single site:

Can imagine your reaction. Would have been simple to mail you whether you agreed to placing this on Zeno. I see the post on Zeno was made only yesterday. Did you already have contact with Gencho Kitov on this ?

Indeed, not according to netiquette. I am not registered on zeno either, but will very occasionally ask a registered member who is also registered on zeno to place it for me.

Since Mr. Kitov's first language is Bulgarian, not English and since zeno seems to require a white background - which may explain the partial removal of your label - and since there was a link to WoC, maybe it was well-meant?
