Mark Master masonic penny with Hebrew lettering
« on: January 13, 2019, 06:08:06 PM »
OK, it's more of a jewel than a penny but it bears many of the same characteristics. Around the rim it has in a semi gothic font:
QUI DILIGIT DEUM DILIGAT ET FRATREM SUUM
(Whom loves God must also love their Brother)

It is the keystone that puzzles me. Instead of the more usual HTWSSTKS, it has Hebrew calligraphy that looks slightly off. I can discern Sida, Kaf and maybe Reish but the others are a mystery to me. Any Hebrew scholars watching?

You may want to send a PM to mrbrklyn. He hasn't been active for a while, but he is likely to be familiar with Hebrew characters.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Another token incorporating Hebrew characters. This time it's a Masonic farthing believed to have its origins in the 1920s.

A PM to Kushi will probably solve these.
