The auction timings may be altered - as per the information on the Oswal Website, the auction will start at 5 PM. Will keep updating the information as available.

Pictures of my display at the fair. I had exhibited The coins of Ahmedabad under Mughal Rule and a second theme was on different denominations of Mughal coins.

That exhibit is more than the presentation of a thoughtful collection. It is a highly educational invitation to start collecting these coins and learn about Indian history. In that way, it promotes a sense of belonging in spite of the differences in the country, which in turn ought to promote tolerance and peace, thus development, however marginally, but for such a great cause, every nudge is welcome.

Thank you Peter. You have hit the nail on its head. My aim in making such simple exhibits is to educate the newbies to collecting and saving heritage by inspiring them and showing them that it is not too difficult. The brief write up is in English as well as in Gujarati - the vernacular language, easily understood by the local populace. Even if each exhibition results in a few new collectors - or even people conserving the coins instead of heading to the nearest jeweler to get them melted, I would consider my efforts to have borne fruit. I did meet people who came in with pictures of some coins that they had trying to relate to the displayed images and one of them mentioned that he would pass the coins on to the next generation giving them a tip that these are valuable.

Sorry to disappoint you but I have no other images of the fair. These were shot by my daughters when they turned up to look at the display. Unfortunately not many images on Fb either.
The turnout was good but it appears that these days, there are more dealers and many sellers and few buyers. The general trend is towards Notes - fancy numbers and bundles, Republic India and British India coins and stationary. Very few sellers of ancient and medieval coins. However, almost all sellers seem to have been satisfied and happy with the turnover during the fair - whether it was selling or buying.
The additional space provided to small sellers of assorted artifacts / antiques in the open on a payment of a nominal fee of Rs. 1000 seems to have been a hit as these folks coming from small far-flung areas bring in a fair variety of antiquities which most coin collectors also eye.
