Hi Folks

Got this interesting stamped cartwheel penny. Would be interested to know if anyone has seen one before. Also looking for any information. Thanks all in advance.

Cheers

The Elephant and Castle was originally a coaching inn, which then gave its name to a wider area,  in central London, in Southwark just south of the river. Could be some connection?

Not in Scott, yet seems to fit in this series (1820-1850). It looks like this was a trial piece for a punch. One side was struck with too little force, but they got it right the second time.
