Danske and Bank of Ireland are planning to introduce polymer £5 and £10 banknotes in Northern Ireland in February 2019. The polymer notes will be similar to current notes, only the substrate will be changed from paper to polymer.

Actually, Danske Bank introduced £10 and £20 polymer notes in Northern Ireland.

The two other note-issuing banks in Northern Ireland have also introduced polymer notes: Ulster Bank and Bank of Ireland have both replaced their paper £5, £10, and, £20 notes with polymer notes.
Higher denomination paper notes remain in circulation.

First Trust Bank is to cease banknote issue entirely by 2022, and has not issued any polymer notes.
