You already have the emperor and the regnal year. For the month, have a look here.

Hi,
I do not think Aurangzeb put months on coins. The practice was abolished during Shah Jahan's period AFAIK.
Thanks,
Saikat

It not a RY but a date, I would say it's not a 2 but the way it appears to curve up it's a 4   so a date ending in 46 = 1046 or 1146 which excludes Aurangzeb but includes Shah Jahan

I beg to differ. This looks RY 46.

I think your right and  we agree that it's a 4 and not a 2,  Aurangzeb Paisas  squeezed in the date at the top & RY on the reverse, here is a good example although the one side differs from Sarawars coin

Reply received from Abhishek (Abhinumis).

It is RY 26. Ry 46 is not easy to get. Here is a similiar example.
You can post it on my behalf as my laptop is not working and this pic is too heavy to upload on WoC. 1093AH / RY 26. I hope this clears the confusion. I think I have most easy to get RY's of Surat mint of Aurangzeb, including a heavy dam in julus mubarak which is somewhat difficult to get.

Amit

PS: I am not convinced on his reading the RY as 26.
