« on: October 05, 2018, 12:23:03 PM »
Morocco issued a new design series in 2002. The lowest denomination was now the 5 santimat coin.

The 5, 10 and 20 santimat coins were made of aluminium-bronze and had a common obverse of the coat of arms, as seen below.

The dirham and the 1 and 2 dirhams were made of copper-nickel.

The reverse of the dirham coin featured a design of a satellite, to represent the theme of telecommunications and new technologies.

The obverse featured the coat of arms.

A nice set. From the dirham to the 10 dirhams, the year and denomination on the reverse is treated differently each time, which I find intriguing.
