Nice coin,  capn. I wonder if the two areas where the die failed to make a sharp impression are opposite each other. If so, the coin's weak point could be seen as a strong point, i.e. it is a good illustration of what happens if the plate from which the flan has been cut is not rolled to even thickness.

Yes, they are opposite each other, there is also a large square punch on the rim which distorts the flan a bit as can be seen in the photo
