Aurangzeb Alamgir, AR Rupee, Dar al-Khair Ajmer, AH1106  RY 38. The RY looks like 28 but has to be 38.

This seem to be an early date for the mint. All coins on Zeno are in the RY 40's except a Mohur dated RY 39.

Zeno is a data base and it says so. It is not a catalogue, even though it is fairly complete in many areas. If none of Zeno's members come up with a certain coin, it won't show in the data base. If any one of you has a coin not on Zeno, I encourage you to post it. You can post it yourself, directly on Zeno, but if you can't post there, you can post it here with a request to re-post it on Zeno. We have enough members who can and are willing to help.

Our indexes are similar in function to Zeno: they tell you what has been discussed here, not what's out there. That doesn't mean they are useless. They are extremely useful for those who just want to look up what a coin looks like. Frankly, in some areas, I have the feeling we have quite a representative collection, going way beyond the most common coins. Even I, with my very limited knowledge of Arabic writing, have identified coins with those indexes. By contrast, most, if not all sections of WoT function like a catalogue. They have the ambition to list all tokens of that section. Not all are illustrated, but we are moving towards that goal.

The advantage of zeno for trying to identify a coin is that you can view whole pages of photo thumbnails and only needing to click to view if you want to see the details.

Members can similarly go into their profile and see photo thumbnails of their entire posting history.  Their server must be huge, quite often it lags although it seems to have improved of late.

The main issue with the Zeno.ru is that it's not accepting any new registrations. Otherwise, it's quite a good portal to browse, view, compare the coins before any possible acquisition.

There were certain issues which caused ZENO to stop accepting new registrations. However, as you mention, an excellent database to view and compare coins and learn.

PS: Arthur tells me that the earliest date is RY 29.
