Discussion: Some clarification regarding purchase of proof coins from Indian Govt. mints

Hello every one. I am new to this forum and this is my first post.
I have no previous experience of buying proof coins from Indian Govt. mints. About a month ago, i booked 3 coins from Mumbai mint. Till now, the only information i have is, my transaction was successful. If i look for details of the order, all i find is coins will be dispatched within 6 months from the close of booking. Now, mine is a case of purchase from online counter sale, not pre booking of new issues. So why i am getting this message ? Also, if i go to the sales counter and buy the coins, will i be handed the coins instantly after making payment or in this case, too, i shall have to wait for postal delivery? If the answer to my question is yes, then why should there be delay in online counter sale?
Will any one please enlighten me?

Our Govt workers are very fast (I mean very lethargic) to process the orders and their minimum SLA is 6 months. Once they get the free time, they will dispatch it. Even I have ordered 4 coins from Hyderabad Mint and awaiting for it from 3-4 months. They don't even respond to the emails even after several remainders.  Rest assured, you will get your coins.

Online counter sales are dispatched in 4 to 8 weeks time. The pre booking take a while which is unpredictable. Anything from 2 weeks to 2 years.

Thanks for the response. I have received all of the coins. What confused me is the message from mint website "Coins will be dispatched within six months from the close of booking."
