When the ministry of finance considers, it means that there's not going to be a new coin in at least 10 or 15 years.

It took some time but earlier this week the Media Center of the Council of Ministers of Egypt commented on the news about the alleged introduction of a 2 pounds coin saying it is "totally unfounded". The Egyptian Ministry of Finance has now also denied that such coin will be issued.
