Morocco: thematic coin series of 2011

In 2011 Moroco issued a new design series. Surprisingly, it was a modern thematic set, and a thoroughly attractive one too.

First of all I will show the obverses of the set.

Below is the common obverse of the 10 and 20 santimat coins, which are made of brass-plated steel.

It shows the Moroccan coat of arms.

The 5 dirhams is a bimetallic coin, with a Nordic gold center within a copper-nickel ring.

Below you see the obverse of the coin, which features a portrait of King Mohammed VI.

The reverse of the 20 santimat coin features a water lily and a globe, symbolising the need for water protection.
