I have just dived into this and a contact informed me that the Falkland Islands government has solved the shortage of 50p's mentioned in this topic by ordering over 100,000 of the 2018-dated penguin coins. It is therefore unlikely that we will see a 2019-dated 50p of the new series.

forgot to mention that bit - also 1p/2p and 5p will be issued during the next three months or so.  No 50p as stated :)

In 2021 this penguin 50p series that was first issued in 2018 will be re-issued. The coins will only be released into general circulation on the Falkland Islands.

The figure for the issue of the uncoloured 2018 Penguin portrait coins is 25,000 of each design.
